I'm just about to register my boy with the IKC but when I rang them about the payment they said it was 20 euro and to send the equvilent in sterling. How can I send them an exact amount when the rate changes by the day?????? I have rang them but they keep putting me on hold! Ahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Clare
I had the same problem when I needed to pay for my membership to the Newfoundland Club of Ireland. In the end, I got the Euros from the First Trust cash machine at City Hall (Donegall Square North). There is also a Euro cash machine in Central Station. I don't know if these are convenient for you but it seemed easier than messing about with exchange rates or paying commission to change at the bank.
Hi Shaynlola, I rang the bank and they said £15.00 sterling was the equvilent.I got through to the IKC but they don't seem to know what are doing. They said just to send a cheque? Did you send cash to them?? I was going to get a bankers draft! This is doing my head in!
I have had to deal with the Irish KC before, I hope I never have to again; they are the most unhelpful bunch and only seem to be there for an hour a day lol! In the UK we should be extremely grateful for the service we receive from the UK KC :D
They must be on the Guiness 24-7!

Can you send them a 20euro euro money order thing? when I am paying in sterling for stuff to the KC I went to the exchange desk in the bank and asked to make me up a sterling money order and paid the bank the equivalent of that there and then in euros, hope it works!!
Carol
I've sent a UK cheque (Sterling) to them, this was for registering
my dogs to compete at St Patrick's day show.
Basically if your bank say's £15 sterling then send it.
I think the IKC take the 'hit' regards exchange rates - so sometimes
they might make a profit or on another day might lose.
C'est La Vie.
Cheers guys! I'll send them a cheque for £15. Thanks for all the replys! Clare

Sorry I didn't get back sooner, Clare. Home internet connection has died

Yes, I sent cash by recorded delivery. The cheque sounds like an easier bet though :)
Cheers Shaynlola, knowing my luck the money would go walkies in someones pocket to the pub! More Guinness!!
