Topic Dog Boards / General / Stolen dogs - mental anguish
- By gwen [gb] Date 02.11.05 17:22 UTC
As those of you will know who read the Missing Dogs section, I had 3 pugs stolen on Sunday evening.  Happily, 1 was found on Monday, running loose on a housing Estate in South Shields\Jarrow.  However, Lewis and Alison are still missing.  As if this was not torment enough for me, got a phone call this afternoon from someone giving an address where he said the dogs were - Police checked out the address, no dogs, no sign any had ever been there.  The call had just been a wind up!  What sort of person would do this , for heavens sake!  Not only were my hopes raised right up and then dashed, but I have lost a whole afternoon sitting by the phone when I coudl have been out searching and putting up more posters, not to mention the waste of police time.  I am now more of a wreck than I was earlier today.
bye

how awful for you.  I would also be a wreck.  I wish you every hope getting them both back safely.  My thoughts are with you.  If only the punishments were higher for the scum that do these terrible things.

Oh Gwen, I feel for you and anyone else whose dog has gone missing. I spent yesterday evening helping a genteman search for his PRT that went missing at tea-time. I'm off out in a minute to find out if he's turned up yet. I can't imagine how worrying it is to not know where your beloved pet is and what may have happened to it :(

All fingers and paws crossed here for the safe and speedy return of your two babies.

Oh Gwen, I do hope this torment ends soon and Lewis and Allison come back home safe and sound.
- By Lyssa [gb] Date 02.11.05 18:01 UTC
My wishes to you Gwen, I pray that your other two dogs turn up safe and sound.  There are a lot of good people out there who will hand in your dogs if they are seen wandering around. There are always going to be idiots around who waste people's time.  Let us all know when they are found, in the meantime I shall have my fingers and toes crossed for a happy ending.

This really is awful.  We seem to be hearing more of it going on.  It sounds like the police are taking things very seriously.  I hope your dogs are found soon.

Wishing Lewis and Alison home to you very soon, Gwen - and wishing altogether nastier things on the gits that do this to people. :(

Hope the other two arrive home soon.  I lost nearly 2 stone when Lana was taken and my house wrecked within 2 weeks, I'm not exactly the biggest person either!

Take care and we've got everything crossed here.

This is one of those nightmare situations which dog lovers dread. I am so sorry it's happened to you, Gwen, and I hope and pray that you soon get that one call or tip-off which leads to your dogs being back where they belong.
Thinking of you and hoping for the best outcome.
xx

I second everything that has been said on here. I would be distraught if Mack was ever taken from me. As someone has already said I panic when I cant hear his bell ringing (on his collar).

Thinking of you at this dreadful time. All our love Gillie & Mack xx

Thanks again everyone.  The folk at Lostdogs have been wonderful, and arranged for the local TV station to interview me and film the pugs who are left.  It was shown at teatime tonight, so I am keeping everything crossed that it may get through to someone who has an idea.  Will keep you all informed.
bye
