How long do you normally have to wait for the goods?? Ive been waiting over 2 weeks now since my 2 claim forms were sent off and still not heard nothing! Do they normally take this long or should i give them a ring?? :)

Morning!

I'm pretty sure mine took at least 2 weeks to come through - I'm also pretty sure I got a voice mail saying they were processing the docs and they'd arrive soon - about 2 days before I got them.  Might be worth a call just to check...

M&S seem to offer a great policy, we've got no excess and pay baout £10.50 a month for Kiera.

Hi Nicky, yeah mines no excess and 10.65 a month, i know they have alot more customers now, maybe thats why?!

Give em a ring anyway........I always do with mine, to check they have the claim, then if its on the decision makers desk, then to see if they have printed the check, then to see if its posted...........

I always thank them ever so nicely for their help and take the first persons name down who I ring and then I ask for them every time. Have found doing it this way seems to speed up the process............I think it may be because they want the annoying women to leave them alone.:)

Right, just got off the phone, one cheques been done and the other is still outstanding. Thing is the big cheque that should of been for 176.30 is 146.30!! So shes finding out why and is going to ring me back! I know what it is, its the home visit that they aint coughing up for, that was 30 quid! But the box was ticked on the claim form to say that it could have caused damage to Blue by moving him as he was in shock, for all i knew had broken his leg and how the hell are you supposed to pick up a 7 stone Great Dane and get him in a car???!! :(
- By Blues mum Date 02.11.05 14:39 UTC
6 stone at the time actually!

Just an update, this isnt M&S`s fault its my stupid vets!! They ticked the wrong box on the claim form so they just got a phonecall and am expecting one back tommorrow! So much inconveinience!
- By STARRYEYES Date 02.11.05 16:34 UTC
Glad to hear you got it sorted .  :)  :)

Just been on the phone to the vets, was very nice about it and explained it was them who was at fault and have said they will now get on to M&S and get it sorted! So im really pleased :)

I hope you get it sorted.  M&S were wonderful when I claimed although I would say it probably took 3 weeks at least from start to finish.  Previous companies I have dealt with took at least 3 weeks to phone me several times and ask me the same questions - just to cross check my previous answers I suppose and try and get out of paying (which they did) :(

Both the vets and M&S have been very nice and explained whats what, i just wish my vets (i know a few others do it) could of been paid straight from the insurance, that way i wouldnt be waiting for cheques and making phonecalls and that. I know they want their payment asap, just would be ssssoooo much easier and less stressful!
- By copper_girl [gb] Date 04.11.05 16:41 UTC
Ahhh well, the insurance companies used to do that - deal direct with the vets.  But now, for some reason (must be to do with money!) they don't do that anymore.  In the past when my cat was run over and the bill ran over £1,000, the vet dealt direct with the insurance company and no hassle to me.  Now, the vets want you to pay up front and you have to deal with the insurance company yourself to get the money back.

I don't blame the vets.  My personal experience with insurance companies is blah blah blah.  And I'm sure the vets have the same problem, which is why they have had a change in policy.

Just had a phone call from the vets saying that they have been on the phone to M&S and they are refusing to pay out for the house visit, even though by moving Blue could have caused damage to his health, which in this case i am supposed to be "covered"!! Pfft!! So am a bit pee`d off!!
- By lofty [gb] Date 09.11.05 01:43 UTC
I would get on the phone m&s and find out why they won't pay for the home visit espceially as you are covered
- By Blues mum Date 09.11.05 10:52 UTC
Ive just been on the phone to find out whats going on! Their going to get back to me! This is becoming a joke!
