I'm feeling absolutely gutted! I was at work on Sunday evening, in a petrol station on a very busy road. I was looking at the cctv images of the forecourt when I saw what I thought was a cat running around the pumps. I went to the front door to take a closer look and to my suprise there was a tiny yorkie, obviously petrified. I tried several times to coax and catch the poor little thing but with fireworks and bangers going off, it was having none of it. Eventually it ran away again. As I was working alone, I couldn't go after it so I went back inside where I spent the next hour of my shift watching for it. The next morning I was just driving into work when I saw an elderley couple looking deeply upset removing their little yorkies body from the side of the road. I felt so gutted for them. I had tried my hardest to catch the little dog the night before, only to find out it had been run over. Later that day a customer in the station told me that the couples dog was terrified of fireworks and how it had escaped at the first opportunity. Fireworks should be banned, they may be nice to look at but the manufacturers don't even consider the real damage they do!
