the women concerned has just rang me to say that she wants a friend of hers to have the pup, but will i have her back until 19th December as her friend is in Madrid until then, im willing to have the pup back but im worried this will confuse and unsettle the poor little thing to be brought back here and then have to uproot again after 7 weeks, now im not sure what to do!!!

I'm not really qualified to give an opinion based on experience as I don't breed pups, so have no experience.  However, I do think this woman has a bit of a cheek.  She can't cope with the pup herself so what qualifies her to decide who else is best to take it on?  Personally I would be worried that this little pup is going to pushed from pillar to post at this rate.   I think if I was put in this situation I would give her a refund, take the pup and ask her to ask her friend to contact you direct.  If the friend is really that interested she will contact you and pay the going rate won't she?  Just my opinion.

Well said Chez_swa my feelings exactly.  My gut feeling would be that the present owner is trying to salve her conscience by saying she knows someone who would love the pup.  A lot could happen between then and now and if the friend doesn't want the pup after all, it will have imprinted itself on you in that time, it is going to feel a wrench being sent to another home by the time you have had chance to vet prospective owners after Christmas.

Take it back and start looking now for your sake and the pup.
