hiya,
well poor Teka has been a nightmare tonight with the fireworks going off, and its not even close to what bonfire night'll be like....
i'm still doing the de-sensitization, and will continue once the fireworks are over (not making much difference so far, not when the Real Things are going off..), so i thought i'd invest in some rescue remedy and see how we get on. I don't really want to go down the sedation route, so....I might nip to Holland & Barrett tomorrow and get some Valerian tablets, so any info about them would be fab too. Don't ask for much do i :D ?
i've had a search on here, and quite a few peeps use the liquid, and either 'administer it' by drops on the tongue or in water. Theres a spray version too isn't there..? Is it any good?
my question is how much to use, and how often to? For example 2/3 drops every 3/4 hours? Its going to be for Teka, who as you probs know is a lab bitch-about 28kg's, if that makes any difference.
is there any benefit of using it in the run-up to saturday?
thanks everybody,
nicola & Teka
The past two years I've given 3-4 drops directly under the tongue when it's been needed, worked immediately. This year I bought Minubulus (sp?) which is the Flower Remedy specifically advised for Firework's but haven't needed to administer it at all, the dog which two years ago shoke from head to tail now just gives a little sigh and turns over in her bed! Good luck, I found it to be a god send.

Hi Munkeemojo
I use the bach remedies Mimulus and Rose Rock specifically for firework night and it works a treat, if it gets really bad i put 3 or 4 drops on their tongues every half an hour and also a few drops into their water. A hot water bottle in their bed also seems to help them, hope this helps.
Hi there,
Can you get the mimulus (and whatever the other one is called for fireworks)from ordinary health food shops or is it an internet job?
Thanks
Hi
Most bach remedies can be bought from health shops (Holland and Barratt are usually quite good). Failing that, if you order from Ainsworths (put it in google and it should come up!) they will send your order first class on the day of order. They also do a 'recovery remedy plus' now for times of extreme stress which might be worth a try -certainly good for humans :)
Good luck
Alex
Thanks Alex, will try that now.
