Hello I was wondering about if you would know if it is possible to DNA test for carrier, infected or not with these syndrom:
Cataract
PRA
Retinal Dysplasia
Corneal Dystrophy

And if some one have exsperience about costs in these DNA tests

In my country, all breeding dogs has to get eye-clearence (tested) every 12 months, if dogs have heritade cataract then hes breeding-banned, if he gets PRA then the dog, all his pups, parents and siblings are put in breeding-bann. But with Corneal D, and Retinal D you may breed the dog but the dog ho he will be breed with must be clean!! But how can we know if the other dog is clean?

I´m so sorry about my english, but english is not my spoken language. Thank you all.

Check on the Optigen site as they hold the licences for all the available DNA tests for eye defects

Thank you very much, but I have one question, do you know if it is possible to send them blood from other countrys? And do FCI "recognize/agree" (sorry I cant find the right word) Optigen

Well the UK KC accept them, the ISDS(sheedog Registry) do so I would expect the FCI do as well

The dogs are ID'd by Tattoo or chip(or both)as well & Optigen will store the samples for future tests
