Hi I am new to the site, but have been reading some of the other postings and replies and you all seem so helpful and caring. I wondered if anyone could give me some advice. I have a bitch on her 12th day, standing, flicking her tail, mounting the dog and being a complete flirt. At first the dog was really interested and mounted her a few times, although didn't quite get there (if you know what I mean). Things were going really well until my son accidently let another bitch out, who also has her season but we don't want to have puppies. We put her back in the house and expected things to get back on track. However, since this the dog is not interested at all in the first bitch, despite all of her attempts at pushing her bum and bits in his face etc. This was yesterday and still there is no action or improvement. What should I do ???

shoot your son :D---perhaps take the intended elsewhere to breed them-its not ideal but if hes on the same place he might still search for the other bitch---of course theres always a chance the other is right on and the one youd like to breed isnt -good luck anyhow :)

Thanx Dizzy, I will try that, the problem now is that even when he does sniff her she just ignores him as though she is sulking, I hope we haven't missed the chance. I will take them both onto neutral ground and hope for the best, thanx again for the advice.

the only other idea i have ---is to rub a cloth all over the others bits, then transfer the smell to the hopefull one-let the dog have a quick smell then lead the bitch away, he hopefully will become frantic and grab her to stop her leaving,.
