How can my bitch who was mated 12 days ago, be looking pregnant already?  I'm sure this is impossible, but she has not been eating more, so I don't see how she can just have put on weight.  She actually looks pregnant.  Is this possible?

In a word, no.:) The pups wouldn't even be an inch long so even if there were lots it wouldn't show after 12 days.You normally see a difference after 6 weeks.

Yes, that's what I thought.  It is very strange.  But if I showed you a picture of her two weeks ago, and another one of her now, you would see what I mean!!  I hope it doesn't mean a phantom pregnancy!

Perhaps she's like some women?

Some women go nine months and hardly show, and some look pregnant from 3 months ;) (and of course, many variations in between ;) )

To be honest there's nothing to see at 12 days. Just tiny weenie spheres floating free in the uterus.

Maybe her body is preparing in some way - laying down fat or something.  God knows lol.  Just hope it's a good sign!!

I only had one bitch that did that and she had a phantom.  She actually grew and we were sure she had pups inside her but it was a phantom.  When she was scanned there was nothing inside.

I knew that Carina was at about 12 days gone, maybe just a feeling but she too looked pregnant.  She now has just over 2 weeks to go and her teets have dropped in the last 2 days and she can't spring anymore :d
