Hi, I have got a cavalier king charles spaniel who is 9 weeks old and we are trying to toilet train her. When she goes to the toilet outside we praise her with words and give her a biscuit treat. Is this the right thing to do ? Its just that since yesterday her poo hasnt been as solid. is there a treat that we could give her, that maybe wouldnt give her loose stools. She is on antibiotic ear drops at the moment as well, dont suppose that would cause it though. Thanks

Urination or defaecation is self rewarding, so really, anything extra you care to give her is just that - an 'extra'. Small puppies usually find something soft, rather than a biscuit which may hurt when they are teething, more rewarding - so you could try a small piece of cheese (unless there is a known lactose intolerance) or cooked meat like chicken, actually works better as a 'reward' for other training sessions.......
