..or rather it's an Edward but I assume they're similar.

My hubby was given an Edward cleaner that someone was chucking out (we're thinking of using it to clean up when we sweep the chimneys) Can anyone tell me if there should be a seal where the two halves of the canister meet? I've searched online but can't find any onfo.

Thanks

Kath.

I've got an old Henry, and the black top part just sits on the bottom half.  You should have two clips which just fix the peices together.  There is a large round filter which also sits inside the bottom half.

I've just noticed that the filter does have a rubber seal around it.  I would think you could use it without the filter/seal as long as you used bags.

i could be wrong ,but oh got me a henry from work and said he paid a little bit more 2 have one without a filter , they pick up better apparentley(sp)and there is no seal on mine just clip top 2 bottom , if u use it without the bag it sucks up even better.

Thanks. :-)

This one does have a filter.  I'll give it a test run without a bag using some ash, (think I'd better do it outside to be on the safe side  )

I've had a George in the past and now have a Henry. They're fantastic, but one of my dogs used to HATE the face on my Henry and she used to growl at it!

Just to add,

I recently bought a universal turbo brush head from Argos for about £25.00.

Works brilliantly with Henry for picking up all the hairs on the carpet.

i loved my henry, then one day when i was out hubby got rid of him and bought me a new hoover which he has to use as i don't like the new one it does not do a good job, and with 5 dogs i need a hoover that will practically pick the carpet up off the floor and shake it, i have not been long in the new house so until i get wooden floors down he will just have to hoover, so my new hoover is called Paul
