Hello, before we contact the vet and they end up pumping ur dog full of routine drugs i wondered if anyone else had experienced what he appears to have;
Yesterday he began to make a noice which sounds kind of like he is snorting - he is a boxer and not the quietest of breathers i know! He appears to be in top spirit but the only thing that crossed my mind was is this indicative of kennel cough? Hes not trying to cough up anything atall, i can only discribe it as the sound some people make when trying to clear the back of their nose (yuk!). He only does it once in a while and in short burts.
Is this a recognised condition? I'll see how he gets on today and then contact the vet.
Thanks

Hi Scoob
This sounds like 'reverse sneezing.' Not sure what the actual cause is, possibly some irritation in the trachea. Some breeds seem to do it more than others. My Bernese used to do it occasionally and I've noticed Cavaliers do it a lot.
I wouldn't worry too much unless it happens regularly.
