Have lost my phone.  O was a Nokoa that you coudl make the text large on for both the phone book and Text messages.  I don't like Nokias to be honest.

I need a new or second hand phone.  Now my freind has a Samsung phone (not sure of model, but it is a silver flip phone with camera) and it ahs a large screena dn you can make the text big.

I have been sown this route before, sles staff just haven't got a clue what 10 -20% sight means in real terms.

When I took the tiny texted phone one chap showed me and put it right at the end of the counter and ask him if he could read it from there, as that is what I would see with it in my hand then he got it.

Unfortunately unless they know al the ins and outd of the settings options they cannot tell me if that make of home has the large tect feature.

So has anyone found a good phone that allows you to make lovely big numbers and letters???

Please !!!

I have the Samsung e720, that allows you to make the text larger, but I found you have to set it to large everytime you want to text. My previous phone, think it was the Samsung e700 had large and clear text as the normal, both are silver flip phones, with cameras.

hth

liberty :)

edited to add: colourwise they are silver and blue, but if you want I can confirm what model my previous Samsung was, gave it to a friend who needed larger text ;)

Then I suspect my freind has the later as you can make the big text permanent.

Don't understand why they don't have this as standard for mobiles as ther must be lots of people with poor sight that ti woudl help?

Ebay would be a good start, but maybe have a look at the phone and text size in your local mobile phone store, to check it will suit your needs. Good Luck

Yep will try that and then buy Sim free online, unless my local shop has one second hand

Hi Liberty.  Have just bought the E700, but it has no instruction manual.  do you know how to set tyhe text large as the chap in the shop didn't think you could.

Also if you still ahve it would you be able to let me have the Instruction book or tell me where you can get one??? :D

I can't remember off-hand how to do it, I should stillhave the user manual for it somewhere, let me see if I can track it down, and will be happy to send it to you :)

Have PM'd you as playing with it can't findd any way to change the text, and it doesn't seem to be the smae as my freinds as hers is bigger.  Have set the contrast high and the light on longer, and find the text none too bad as it is for the normal stuff.

Thanks as can't see anyway to enlarge the fonts, but the contrast of the LCD helps a lot.

Yes but how many will allow the bigger text, the one I lost was rather a brick it was the blue and orange one that was a 3?10i.

Can I ask you all to look at your phones and see if you can make all the text saty large for messages in and out, and the phone book, as most only let you have the phonebook large.  I get texts, and then can't read them, especialy if in lower case letters.

The Samsung is lovely, but it will cost nearly £200!

Have a look at the Nokia 6170. It's a flip, camera phone. You can set the font size to large permanently on it. Not sure how much it costs though as I got it free with the contract I am on.
