I have a 7 month old pure breed wire hair, but she has little if no wires. Will the wires eventually grow? She is obviously not a smooth, but does not at all look like her parents.

Think this is usual as your boy is still in his baby cloths, contact your boys breeder or any other breeder of wirehair dachshunds and I'm sure they will put your mind to rest. Jackie H

Is the coat quite hard or still relatively soft? Some wires have what is called a pin coat (I think) and this is a very tight but very hard jacket rather than the longer coat that needs to be stripped.
