as i have posted before i may be rescuing a lakeland terrier-
how should i settle her in- shall I-
a) pick her up, take a few days off to settle her in, then carry on with my routine as normal or
b) pick her up and just carry on living as i would normally without taking time out?
I know it will be scary for her, but i dont want to confuse her anymore, thats why i feel i should not spend 24/7 with her at first, any suggestions......

Golly - it just depends on the dog :) Is she house-trained ? What sort of home has she been in ?? It may be that you have to treat her as an 8 week old and start from scratch. If so, it will/may take a lot more than a couple of days :)

Well she is coming from a great family, IS house trained etc, and is used to her owner going to work in the day time.

I would think it best to take a few days off so you know if there are any problems, rather than come home to them. Probably just spend the day as you would normally, but build into it your new dog routine (walks, play etc). Hopefully she will settle quickly if you are around, although probably best to not overdo the cuddles, just keep it as normal as possbile :) Good luck :)

I was thinking that too- that way i can observe what she gets into! Also to watch her with the cats, she has lived with cats all her life but i would like to see how she behaves around them anyway, thanks daisy,
cant wait!
