I want to bath my 2 pet dogs at home but I dont want to use our bath, because we have just had a new bathroom fitted.
Can you buy a liner to fit inside a bath or can you buy portable baths.
All replies welcome.

I put a rubber mat in the bottom of my bath.  The dog feels safe and secure and the bath isn't damaged at all! :)

Thank you for your reply, I have all ways used a rubber bath mat, but my dog all ways tries to scrabble up the side of the bath even though he is tied up and being reassured. But then he is a bit of a scarry cat (dog).

Any other surrgestions?

What about a towel covering the bottom and sides of the bath. That might stop it getting scratched. HTH

OK, an old piece of carpet (or a new remnant!) that covers the side, bottom and up the other side.  Even better if it's foam backed because it will grip.
When I started grooming from home, before I set up the parlour, that's what I did.  I made holes in the carpet and tied it onto the bath handles, but it didn't really need that.  Then it can be hung on the line to dry, and stored in the shed until you next need it. :)  Have fun!

Try Robinsons, the Equine suppliers, they have a dog section in their catalogue and I am sure they do one.

I have always found the shower much better than the bath for washing dogs. You can go inside with your dog and the dog feels secure as it is on a flat surface. The shower head is also much easier to use than taps on a bath when rinsing the dog.

In the summer I tie the dogs outside, and fill a watering can with luke warm water, and dilute the shampoo into a spray bottle.

Wet the dog thoroughly with water from the can, spray on the shampoo while rubbing with the other hand so it reaches every where, and then rinse off with several more watering can fulls of water.

Let them shake, towel the off, and then take them inside to finsih off.

I bought a childs sand pit/pool and put a bath mat at the bottom so they dont slip I use it near a grid so it is easy to empty has been very useful and only cost me £17.00.

Petplanet have some.  You can sit it in your bath as it has a drainage hole in the bottom.  Very lightweight.
