I live in Mallorca and a lot of dog owners use the above injection every six months .I myself instructed a vet to give my cocker this injection in july which on Ocober 2nd produced a litter of 5 .My vet does not like the use of this injection so I shall have my girl spayed at christmas .I have another female who is just 7 months and approaching her 1st season . I would like her to have puppies later on but would like anyone with experience to give me their views on the injection .I also have a wonderfull stud dog who I will not castrate  , but if an injection is not advisable I will arrange seperation of the two  .

I would never give hormones to prevent seasons in a bitch I wanted to breed from.  There is a high risk of a bitch developing Pyometra once you let her have seasons again, and it seems to be linked to cyctic ovaries too.

Is there another way to read the thread as I cannot get some of the dots and lines on my keyboard . Maybe the date and board my assist me .
