Evas got a bubbly rash under her leg by her belly where the hairs only fine, its irritating her like mad, its slightly red. We have just put some tea tree cream on it. Should we take her the vet or will she be alright till tommorow?? Any ideas what it could be???
What do you mean by bubbly? Is it like little tiny spots(that could be squeezed) or is just the skin that is raised and red? If its the former, all our dogs have had this at one point or another, usually when they have been running through long grass or crops where they could have scratched themselves and maybe come into contact with chemicals. I wipe the area with either salt water or witch hazel and apply a cream like E45(we call this magic cream as it seems to heal anything and everything!)or, like you did, something with tea tree oil in it.
Unless the area is really big and really bothering her then I personally wouldn't bother with the vet, we put it down to some sort of allergy, it comes and goes and doesn't bother them, or us! HTH :)
Its a load of little spots in a set of close together circles they look squeasy. They seem slightly better this morning and dont seem to be irritating her as much. Thanks for your advise ill give them a try if it doesnt clear up.
Meg had this sort of thing on the inside of her back leg. It was not long after I had her spayed and I noticed it was down to her over licking that area. Don't know if it's the same thing. I did bathe it with salt water. Didn't work. Put a little E45 cream on and it seemed to clear it up.
Sounds similar to Eva's problem. You won't do her any harm by trying some.
