Has anyone else heard that we are to lose the VAT-exempt working dogs' feed?

I've not seen anything in the press about it, but heard it today :(

Yes there was something on a raw feeding list I'm on a couple of weeks ago. Someone checked with a supplier who said it was on the cards but not until next year sometime. If you want to know more I can go and find the info

Heard that our supplier has said that the VAT free status is to go from the beginning of November - I just want to check the veracity of the statement :(

Just received this reply from the horse's mouth(ie the Inland Rev/Customs & Excise)

Thank you for your email enquiry received on the 10th October 2005.

I can confirm that there has been no current changes to the legislation, neither am I aware of any future changes, regarding the VAT liability of food for working dogs, therefore the exemption covering the food will still be upheld.

I would recommend that you view our website, http://www.hmrc.gsi.gov.uk, which will include details of any changes that are to be implemented with regard to our legislation.
