It's probably some nerves you're sending down the lead - in the kitchen, my dog stands up on his toes, wagging furiously; in the ring, I get a wet dishrag half the time and a mad thing jumping up the other half! :-)

any 1
If she is really scared then the best thing may be to take her out of the ring(ie for 6 months or more) and just have some fun with her, build her confidence with you. Then take it steadily, don't put any pressure on her, go to ringcraft then try again.
But also bare in mind that some dogs just do not like showing, we have 3, 2 who I show but the other I don't. She does not act up but only does it to please me and is not happy in a show situation, all the other dogs and noise etc put her on edge and she doesn't enjoy it.
I know people who've had success with herbal remedies, Rescue Remedy, Show-off etc, they may be worth a try.

You might find that attending a ringcraft class will help you get the best from your dog. Or it could be that this dog doesn't need as much show practise and will become bored with even a little practise ;) But you must be aware, some dogs find showing a real bind and never show really well.
My own dogs are only 'reminded' of show walking and standing the day before the show, for about 2 minutes, otherwise they would become really bored with the whole thing and then I'd have dishrags ;)
One thing I find helps is to 'spoil' the dog a bit when at a show ;)
Eg. at home dogs aren't allowed on the chairs and sofas, at a show they are allowed on laps and chairs (very clean dogs tho ;) ) and also rest on top of their crate, to watch the world go by
at home dogs aren't fed by hand when we're eating, at shows they get bits of what we're having :)
we give different treats at a show to what's available at home :D they are much tastier :D this all makes for a special day for the dogs :D
If you think it could be due to nerves, your own or the dog's then Bach Rescue remedy is really good, perks up disrags and calms lunatics :D :D
Hope this helps
