- By sarahwillow [gb] Date 19.10.05 13:24 UTC
thanks for the welcome everyone, and yeah she is so fluffy and pretty and she just loves to be with her mum all day!! much to the annoyance of the cat's who also love to be with thier mum!!

We rehomed Tyler when he was about 5 months old and he would bark at people on the street, i don't think it was nerves so much, just something he wasn't used to, as he barks at unusal things which now thankfully isn't very often, so we made sure every experience with human interaction was a positive one, don't know wether that was a good move or not as now we have the other extreme he loves people so much it can be a pain. Bless him. Tylers problems  were due to a huge lack of socialisation i believe. Is your dog of good breeding? I have read if a dog is left too long with with there litter mates they miss out on vital human socialisation and also if they are taken away from mum and litter too early they miss vital doggy socialisaton. Just somehting to think about. Both of which can be turned around i believe.
- By sarahwillow [gb] Date 19.10.05 13:35 UTC
hi, louise123 that's very interesting as they are from good breeding but I do beleve they did'nt have much socilization (gosh I cant spell!!) from the breeders I think they were left alone with the other litter mates for long periods and then didnt really see many people how do you suggest that I get her used to people as I think this is very important for her to be fine around people and for her to be a happy girl

- By sarahwillow [gb] Date 19.10.05 14:06 UTC
I will do off to school to pick my daughter up from her dance club later so I will take willow as there are not that many children as a normal school ending day so she wont get overwelmed but enough for little introductions, thanks for the advice ill keep you informed how we get on and will work at getting her confident and outgoing.
