HOW ARE GREAT DANES WITH OTHER HOUSEHOLD PETS? WE HAVE A FAIRLY MEDIUM SIZE HOUSE AND A LARGE GARDEN. WE HAVE AN INDOOR CAT WHO DOES NOT GO OUTSIDE. ARE GREAT DANES QUITE GENTLE DOGS? DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY OTHER INFO ON TEMPERAMENT AND PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE WITH THIS BREED TO SHARE.  IT WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED AS WE ARE CONSIDERING THIS BREED TO ADD TO OUR FAMILY.

http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/greatdane.htm - I found this, hope this helps, you can do a search for breed info if you want more. Or you could always have a look through the Great Dane Breeders on this site on the search link, they have plenty of helpful info on their sites and most are happy to be contacted for any questions you may want to ask, also id reccommend visiting just so that you know what your letting yourself in for! :D Good luck, hope you find what your looking for :)

we have two great danes. One was purchaced a year after the other and we cant fault them. As puppys they are quite a handfull and expect a few items to be chewed but that goes for any dog! Regarding with other animals I think it important to let the new dog know ts place, for example the existing animals will always be more senior to the new one as it is there home being invaded.Regarding temperament make sure you get a dane off a reputable breeder as you can go and see their dogs and see what their temperment is like. They are great pets as long as you dont mind stepping over them every time you want to walk about the house and they have a habit of sitting on the sofa like a human.
