we have a new 8 week old puppy she was a little wary as expected when she first came home but now she is settling in well and is lovely, however she does not seem to like people we socialise her a little not to much to overwelm her and when peolpe stroke her or come to the house she does not want anything to do with them she doesnt wag her tail or get excited or even see them she is like this in the house and out, I only leave her on her own for 15 min max in th morning and afternoon when I take and fetch my daughter from school when I get back she is not very pleased to see me after a while she is fine any ideas why she acts like this and what to do to get her to like and trust people to let her no that she can be friendly? many thanks chelsie
Try to get the people to offer her treats when they see her. That way people will come to = treats and so she will have a better response to them....

Aww, you can't have had her long. She is still so young, everything is still new to her.
Register and advise us of the breed as all breeds are different.

Hi Sarah,
She is still very new to you, my dog was just the same when she first came home, didn't seem pleased to see any visitors, didsn't wag her tail-not even for me sometimes! Now she is 2 and loves all visitors to bits and is always wagging her tail.Willow just needs a little time to get settled in your home and a previous person was right, lots of doggy treats, they nearly always respond well to food.

Hi Sarah,
I agree - my Yankee took several weeks even to learn to love us, after his awful car journey where he was sick all the way from Gainsborough to London!! She will settle in and be more responsive soon I'm sure!
