I'd like to know peoples opinions on Arden Grange as we are considering changing her onto this from Autarky which is making them itch and burns which gives one loose stools. Thank you in advance
The breeder of our BCs weaned them on AG and we have continued feeding it ever since. The breeder's dogs all looked fantastic on it and our two are doing really well on the Graduate (despite a temporary blip in their enjoyment of it when i) they were both ill & ii) they had sore gums because they were teething.
i've had mine (labs) on AG before, and they both really enjoyed it. I found it made one of them quite loose though, irrespective of if i fed the guideline amount or less. It meant she wasn't emptying her anal glands properly, and was at the vets every few weeks to have them expressed, so i switched her back to Burns. Had no bother since.
the key is to find a food that works with your dog...whats works for one might not work for another.

Always fed Arden Grange as my breeder (with lots of Champions in her line) advised this. Have no problems with stools or skin problems. We have good results in obedience and show ring. Speaks for itself.
We originally fed Burns but the eldest had loose stools and scooted alot. We tried Autarky but their both itching alot more on it so we thought about AG. I do hope this answers our prayers as I can't face feeding each something different. :-)

I've fed Arden Grange for about 5 years now. Used to feed Eukanuba, but AG was recommended and the breeder scheme price is very good. A couple of times I've changed for short periods but always come back to it as it suits my dogs very well right through from weaning puppies to adults. Good coats, good bone and good poos!

Yep, found the Arden Grange suited all mien, but the Autarky helped with ones occasional bouts of bile (the herbs) so I put the Veterans on it. I would imagine it wouldn't suit dogs sensitive to Maize, whereas the Arden Grange dowsn't ahve this, but has rice (and I think Oats in some of the recipes).

I've fed Arden Grange since a few months after it first came out and have been very impressed with it. Puppies raised on Arden Grange seem to be far superior to those that have been fed on other diets (to my experience that is).

Have you tried the various different flavours of the Burns? It might just be the protein used in one flavour which causes the loose stools.
If you want to change, you might want to consider James Wellbeloved. The ingredients are just as good as Burns and it might help with the loose stools.
We have tried lamb, chicken, fish (oh dear what a mess that was) and venison. I know they have just bought out duck but she had loose stools with all. Before Burns we tried JWB but she didn't really take to it! I even spoke to Burns at crufts about it and they said i was feeding the correct amount but i could try reducing theamount. We did and she went from a lean 6.5kg to 5kg and you could really feel the ribs. My dad was convinced we weren't feeding them enough.
I feed Arden Grange to my 2 and they both do very well on it. The young one has been on the Prestige range since a pup as recommended by his breeder. I switched the older one to it when the young one arrived. I am trying out the Salmon at the moment as it has more carbs than the Prestige apparently.
I believe that another one which is good is Wafcol Salmon and Potato - you could try that? (Look what a convert I have become, after I at first dissed it!)
I,ve used AG successfully on ten BC of varying ages who also work in obedience. It even suits the one who had a dodgy tummy as a pup . Its the only kibble i,ve tried which suits all my lot which makes life much easier . although I,m in a Barf phase at the minute. . more for teeth cleaning than dissatisfaction with AG

The kennels I work at uses AG for the basic diet for all the boarding dogs, as well as the owner's own dogs - she has 3 GSDs and a BC, and they are all doing fantastically on it. The boarding dogs do well on it as well (obviously if they are on special diets we feed them those), little to no squishiness out the back end after the first day nerves. They seem to really like it as well - we don't really use leads at the kennels, and the dogs are very enthusiastic about going back in their kennels if I have my bumbag full of AG :D
Thanks for the comments. Am currently phasing the girls onto the lamb AG. They are both going nuts for it :-) :-)
