From which point to which point do you measure a dog's height?

I believe dogs are measured from the shoulder. Easier said than done ;)

Stand your dog near a wall and slide a suitably sized book down the wall to the top of the withers (shoulders just behind the neck) and put a pencil mark on the wall to mark the height.  Then measure with a tape measure :D :D  Sounds easy but make sure the dog isn't leaning or tucking down or standing wierdly :D :D :D :D :D
