I prefer dobes docked but if the ban comes in -I will still have dobes....

to be honest dew claw removal in my opinion is much worse but vets are willing to do that!!!  bizarre....  will be interesting to see how dobes do in the ring with tails - personally I think they look awful but I suppose I will get used to it.....

whatever happened to freedom of choice eh?  why dont they try and ban puppy farms or commercial breeders etc

I will also still have my breed legally docked.  The pups make more noise when having their dewclaws removed than they do when they have their tails done.    I prefer the breed with a short tail, the differences in Europe of the breed with tails is amazing, they are neither one thing or another.  There were two SWD's at a show in Spain yesterday with a tail and they looked like a different breed, although one looked nothing like the breed full stop.

Jane is that because all the top breeders producing the top quality dogs are still docking because judges don't want to give it to a tailed dog?
I don't think it's because judges don't want to give top awards to tailed dogs (although some may not), it's like you say, all the top breeders are currently still docking ;-) We haven't had any top quality imported undocked dogs shown by top breeders as has happened in Yankees .. not yet anyway :-)
