I am hoping someone can help with this.

My youngest dally feels she needs to rush around the ring at high speed.  She is built like a power pack so this makes it look even worse and has been compared with a train!

When we are outside the ring she moves lovely we go into the ring and she goes at full pelt.  We have tried walking then running, going at the front the middle and the back and she still does it.  We used to think it was because she was worried but since she has had her puppies and gone back into the ring she is full of confidence.

Any help appreciated as we have a few big shows coming up and really want to give it my best shot.

How old is she and have you considered going to a large ringcraft class so she can acclimatize?? All the best, Dawn.

She is 2 and half and has been quite regularly shown since a puppy.  She has also done ringcraft since 12 weeks and it doesnt make any difference. :(

Sorry to possibly be the bearer of bad news but my eldest Boxer
was a nutter as a puppy and NEVER calmed down even after a litter...
She always wanted to go round the ring at 150mph even though the handler (me)
wanted to go a steady pace..
I tried allsorts like yourself and nothing worked for Moo, she's still a cow now :D
I don't show her anymore she's 7 1/2 yo and she's still crazy...the only time she's
quiet is when she's not feeling well.
Just enjoy her for her and hope that if you've kept one of her offspring you get
one that's a little calmer :D I have the moo-bags daughter and she's ace.

At least they generally won't pace when they're charging! :-D Just been pointed out to me that my puppy paces if I don't start walking quick enough, so that's something else to worry out as well as walking straight and not tripping over my feet / the puppy / the ring ropes / the other exhibitors......!
