Hi , im an owner of 2 year old doberman, and recently i've seen red spots appear under his chin, i have no idea at all what the hell they could be.Anyway i thought they might just go away ( or hoping) but now after 1-2 weeks they started busting with blood and yellow puss then they come back again and bust with blood and pus again ???? but i have also noticed the hair under the chin fall off and regrows everytime they bust, so i've decided to take action!
Does anyone at all know what this is or has any of their dogs experienced it ??

It might be acne. My pup had it too and the hair under his chin went away aswell. It has all gone now and the hair is back. :-) A lot of dogs get acne and it clears up by itself, just make sure it doesnt get infected. Try and keep it clean and it should clear up. It sometimes takes a while though. HTH. :D

Very common for the breed to get Acne. My friend uses Sudocrem on her dobes chins when they have had it, definately seems to be a teenage thing, as they don't appear to have it past two years old in my experience with hers.

The only thing that worked on my Dobermann was Aloe Vera gel applied to the affected area. For a while I also gave her the Aloe juice which I added to her food, thereby getting dosed from the inside and out. They do usually grow out of it but is is very common in Dobes. It can go on for ages, so just keep clean and be patient. If you go to the vets they usually prescribe steroids, which in my opinion are a complete waste of time and unneccesary, go for the aloe which is completely natural.
I wash my hands, squeeze spots, wash the dogs chin, dry with kitchen roll and apply savlon. They are very common on Dobermann chins and generally appear at some point in their lives. If you wish you can omit the squeezing :-)
Try wiping his chin clean (maybe using dilute Hibiscrub - available from chemist) and drying it a few times a day especially after eating.

My dobe is 20 months and he had some under his chin and also on the side of his mouth. I squeezed them and dabbed them with a bit of salt water, then I put sudocream on them. He seems okay at the moment. When I try to apply the sudocream or germolene, he tries to eat it. Once I have cleaned the spots and then I say I will get the cream he gets excited, I think he thinks its something to eat.
My Dane had this, and although it seemed to dry up a bit, it was still lingering and kept flaring up, so i decided to just go to the vets and get it cleared up for good, as i know another Dane owner who had this with her dog and she got antibiotics which cleared it up for good, his now been on antibiotics since friday, the vet put him on a 10 day course and his now practically clear of spots, just a bit of pink skin left, that is looking better by the day. Whether the acne will be gone for good or come back i dont know - suppose it depends on the dog/drugs?? But time will tell and so far so good! :)
Thanks everybody for their advice, i used salt water and kept it clean now over the past 2 days and already it seems to be clearing up.Just abit of pink skin and thats it.
Thanks!
Your lucky! Ive tried allsorts! Wanted to see if i could clear it up myself, so Antibiotics was the last option for me :)

Glad to her its getting better. :-) I got some antibiotic cream form the vets for Tyson, but it didnt really help. They eventually cleared up on their own, but it took quite a while. :-)
