Today at puppy class, the trainer put my pup on a very very long line - kind of made from nylon, but it was like rope. Then, I told my dog to sit and stay and then moved to the other end of the room with her still attached by this very, very long lead, and I had to call her back to me. What are these leads called and where can you get them from online? I would like to try and practice this kind of recall training outside on the same kind of lead, but haven't a clue what it is called.

It is a long line and ylu can use a horse lunge or long training le3ad, or simply some rope and a clip.

Check out eBay as well, we bought a 30ft (I am sure they will do longer ones though) one for less than a fiver including P+P :D

they recently had some nice ones soldas horse lead reins in Lidl.  Padded stitched lead with leather strips so often to get a better grip and 30 foot long.

I got mine from our local pet shop, it is called a Mikki long training lead, it is 40ft long (they come in all different lengths) and cost £13. It has been a god send in recall training my 2. Good Luck

I got my first from B&Q, it was a 50ft black nylon webbing line, for a little over a fiver; my second I got frmo Ebay for the same price, it was a green nylon webbing line of 165ft!!  Took some coordination, I can tell you ;)
