Hi
We are getting our puppy in about 6 weeks now and I am starting to buy all the essentials before we bring him home. We will definitely be attending the Discover Dogs Show in November and having never gone before was wondering if this was a good place to buy dog products eg bowls, crates or should I be looking elsewhere.
Thanks
Sarah
Yes, there are some good deals to be had at Discover Dogs. Especially on crates and vet bed (bedding for crates). They have some collars and leads and bowls for sale but not a huge variety, so you might want to get that stuff elsewhere.
Yes, it is a fantastic place to buy lots of bits and bobs!!!! We are going there aswell, my sister is getting a Japanese Chin, or maybe a pug if i can convince her after christmas, were going to discover dogs next month to get some pieces, my sister has already stated she will head straight to the stand featuring doggy clothing and diamonte leads and collars!!!! oh no, lol!!!!!!!!!!

Discover dogs is a great place to start. you will be able to see and touch the varity! :) I'm there on sunday for our breed and will make sure I get a chance to look round and buy the dog's some treats! :)

Hi Sarah
I've been to discover dogs a few times but living in the North of Scotland makes it a bit difficult. One thing I would advice is to phone and order your tickets beforehand, you can pay for them and they will post them out to you. Last time I was there, there was a huge queue, but because I already had tickets I could just walk straight in.

Hi
Thanks for the suggestion, I just ordered 2 tickets for Saturday online. We live in London so don't have the same problem as you in that respect, as the location is very covenient for us.
This is a bit of an aside but does anyone have any experience of their dogs travelling on public transport. I think the bus and train shouldnt be too bad but I often get the tube, is this just unsuitable for dogs? Or are there certain training methods you can use to get a puppy accustomed to it?
Thanks
Sarah

ditto that, the queues are awful! Great show though, last time I went I had to queue for ages but the time before, me and my sister were very lucky - one of the exhibitors saw we were a pair and had two spare tickets!
I won't be there this year as I have a trip to Yorkshire a couple weeks after :( major suck, I missed it last year too! Boo!
I'm going on the Saturday... I just haven't told my driver (dad) yet :D :D
I went last year and didn't buy tickets in advance, wont be making that mistake again

I'm lucky I just flash my YKC members bage and get in...makes me feel all priveldged!!!! :D But do if possible pre book tickets as it makes life so much easier :)
Bekki, Shame your there on saturday, I'm going sunday, make sure you give all the saturday tollers an extra hug from me ;) (I know you will anyway!) :D :P
Aww, shame :( well I'm no good at meeting people anyway :p
I think Babs is doing the Toller stand on the Saturday, that's why I'm going then as she wants to meet me

Of course I'll give them extra hugs, I'll give them anough hugs for the whole of ChampDogs :D :D
I went to Discover Dogs last year and was quite disappointed. I'd been to the 'Wag and Bone Show' twice and had expected Discover Dogs to be fantastic. When we arrived at Earls Court we found then that Discover Dogs was being held in just a small section of the Earls Court showplace. I was looking to purchase some grooming items, like table and clippers and there was only one stall with tables and only a couple had clippers. I think it would be a good place to go when researching the type of dog that best suits you but the Wag & Bone Show is the place to go or here on the internet for doggy goods/gifts and other items.
