Going to Driffield on Sunday with Molly (bulldog), and being new to this showing game, i have entered her into minor puppy bitch and post grad, can i withdraw her from post grad and just show her in minor puppy or do i have to do both?

lol been there done that ;)
If you win minor puppy bitch & want to challenge for best bitch then you have to enter the Post Grad class. If you win Minor puppy & don't want to challenge for best bitch then you can just not take her in PG. You could still challenge for best puppy bitch as long as there isn't a puppy bitch in PG
If you don't win there is no need to go into the PG class, but it's courtesy to inform the ring steward that your bitch will not be in the PG class
Best of luck I'm there on toy day !

Why don't you just take her in for your and her experiance? You have paid your money, you have nothing to loose at all :)
I might do that enter her for the experience, hope i am not laughed at, she is hard work, stands ok but will not walk in straight line,
Dont worry about it as she is only a puppy and i bet she wont be the worst behaved there! ;) Just go and enjoy yourself stay relaxed and calm and dont worry if you are not placed, its only your first show, just have fun!!! GOOD LUCK!!! :D :D :D

Go for it and have fun - I entered my first ever show a week or two back with my Tibetan Mastiff puppy. I was scared stiff beforehand (was scared o showing my puppy up rather than vice versa - he-he!). But it was okay once in and all the nerves went. We got a VHC despite me being all over the place and Flynn wanting to sniff the bum of the TM in front of us. The judge was lovely and had a word with each of us as we left the ring - don't think that's the norm but this was a breed club show.
It's a learning curve so don't worry if it doesn't go to plan. And like wheaten mad said, don't worry if you don't get placed. We only beat one dog, so were 5th out of 6! I asked my friend who's been showing for 40 years when she last got a VHC and she told me it was the last show she attended :D That dog has won his class several times, but it can depend on the dog/judge/competition on the day. The important thing is you both have fun and whatever, you'll still be taking the best dog there home with you.
Annnd.... we're aiming for a 4th next time out - he-he!

I wouldn't worry my last two shows my bitch has had a VHC and a 4th, and she has won lots of classes, swings ans roundabouts, gives someone else a chance :D

Errrm, from my understanding of the rules you are NOT allowed to withdraw from competition!?! (Hope I didn't waste my time on the Rules and Regs seminar and test???!! LOL) All the best and ENJOY! Dawn.

You can not withdraw & then challenge for Best Bitch but you can just miss your class There are no rules in the UK that say you have to go in every class you enter !
I'm a Show Secretary so have to be very aware of the rules ;) :)

Of course that's what I meant Moon...but when you're replying to a thread, you forget to put everything in and assume everyone else knows where you are coming from!! Apologies! Dawn.

lol ;)

Further to that, I bow to the very erudite Moonmaiden!! And applaud the sense of humour!! With looks like mine I NEED a sense of humour!! RFLAO love Dawn X

You need a sense of humour being a show sec, obedience Chief Steward(lol aka the KC's represenative on earth :D) & an obedience/breed judge, if I didn't have one I would be totally mad-no comments please !

You mean you found a Psychiatrist to say you're sane???
Sorry for off topic...I will desist right now!

:D ;)

Wow, well done Lisa. Wish I'd done that with my boy as a junior - he only missed his JW by 3 points and he got all but one of those points during his Junior 6 months! If I'd only stuck him in a few more classes - grr!
How did you get on at Driffield with your little girl?

hmmm, no sign of her in the classes huh??

Well minor puppy bitch was big !

So it was moon...I'm wrong again...just that I didn't think there were a lot of entries altogether and 'missed' the big MPB class!! LOL SOZ! :D

Did anyone notice that the RBCC went to the winner of Puppy bitch and Best puppy to winner of PGB, do you think the results are wrong way around?
