Just got back from a week in the Western Highlands of Scotland and all you doggy folk out there it is just a dream. Have you ever seen a smile on your dog's face? :) Copper just loved it and there was hardly anyone else there except us, so plenty opportunities to get off the lead.
Well worth thinking about for a holiday, even if you live in the south. It's only a day's drive away :). We had a cottage for only £180 for the week and no problem with dogs staying. Just perfect.

glad you enjoyed your hols up here.... did you get eaten by the wee beasties ? :D

No wee beasties at all - apparently they're all gone at this time of year :). And I was amazed to see a product called Master Midge Eater (or something similar!). Someone should manufacture a similar thing for wasps methinks :D

Really!!!! well somebody had better tell the wee blighters as they are still here and biting :D :D
I'll be glad when we get the big frosts and snow.... no sign of it yet thou ;)

Maybe you are further south? We were at Laide and it was just gorgeous. Not a midge (or a dog - apart from mine!) in sight. Bliss! And last Friday it was so warm I didn't even need a coat!!
CG :)
lol ah thats on the coast, that would explain it then. you dont get bothered by them there as they dont like sea breezes, or wind in general :D
I'm not far from inverness but a good half hour from any coast, so i will notice the beasties every time.
It is lovely over on the west, so much nicer than the east side north of inverness :) im south of by the way lol

Yes, it was extremely windy!! Ahh well now I'm back in Edinburgh and the only wee beasties that are bothering me are the neighbour's children :D
Would love to move further north sigh ..........
CG :)

Ooooo, i hope it is nice on the east coast this weekend because we are going up to Dornoch, to a caravan for a few days. I think i might need to pack our winter woolies and waterproofs though! Oh well.... i am sure Liam (my 6 year old), and Tyson (my 7 month old pup) will both LOVE it no matter what the weather! Not sure about the beasties though. :-( It is the first time Liam has been in a caravan, and Tyson too. :-)
Hi Zoe...
where you been hiding then :D
The weather forecast is not looking to good at the moment, so i bet your glad its a caravan and not a tent! you'll be staying in LOL
Still im sure you'll all have fun.... nice big quiet beaches to run on or dig in :D
have fun!!

Hi Jane,
Its pretty miserable here at the minute, been raining since last night. :-( Liam wanted to go 'camping', but the caravan is a close as he's gonna get at this time of year!! ;-) I am really looking forward to it, all the lovely walks....rain or not!! We are only going for 4 days but i could do with a short break before all the hype about Christmas starts!! ;-) :D
ooo tell me about it lol. i have actually been quite good and made a start on the dreaded shopping, but have had enough now, why cant they make up their minds and stick to their lists aaarrgh wish i could get away for a few days too....
but then i'd have to take the rest of them with me which would kinda defeat the point :( LOL
