I think that many of us recognise the dangers of eliminating valuable breeding stock from the gene pool if they are found to be carriers of a genetic disorder, particularly if that disorder has polygenic inheritance.

Takes a bit of reading, but worth it

Thanks Jo, really interesting :) Will take me a fair bit of reading so have saved it to go thru more than like, many times again :D but I love stuff like this its really interesting :)

Thanks this makes very interesting reading.  Just as a matter of interest do you know of any good books which provides the type of information found on this website in an easily digestable manner.  I have read a few bits and pieces and out of curiosity I would like to learn more.
