Am taking youngest cav to vets tonight as i supsect she has mange. :-( There are 2 scaps one on her front chest and one on her side. Any suggestions to help ease the scrtaching and on how they can catch it. She has just finished her seasons so hadn't been on any public land for nearly 3 weeks. Before that we found a scab but assumed it was where she'd had an injection. I feel like such an aweful owner..

It's not your fault, mange can be caught from foxes - maybe you have some visiting your garden.  There is more than one type of mange so you would need your vet to find out which one is it.  Sarcoptic mange can be treated with a product called Revolution and after one treatment the itching should stop.

Have been to the vets and he says its not mange so feeling much better. :-)
My old ginea pig caught mange from our back garden once but you always feel so bad.
Thanks for the info though. Off to pamper my little un now!

Glad that you are happier now.  Did the vet say what it was causing the itching?

I did ask him if it was their food as we'd changed to Autarky but he said I'd have noticed the scratching. Anyway will change her back to nature diet and burns!!!
