Topic Dog Boards / Health / He keeps peeing!!

Hello and help!! My 10 month old lab doesn't wait to get outside to pee anymore. He pees on his way to the door, or just pee's at the door. Normally I wouldn't be to upset because at least I know that he was trying to get out to pee, but now he is just peeing where ever he is, especially when he's in my room. I thought that maybe he had a urinary problem, but he doesn't do it when I or my fiance is home with him. I have roommates with three dogs and I am thinking that they don't always let him out of my room(even though they say they do). Could it be he hears them and the other dogs, gets so excited/scared/happy/mad that they don't let him out, that he pees? This all started several days ago! And nothing in his routine has changed! I'm worried and my roommates are getting fed up! Help Please!!

Make an appointment and take him to your vet pronto.  He may have cystitis [urinary tract infection] longer you leave it, harder it will be for the antibiotics to clear up.  If he is clear for that it may just be juvenille wetting which is caused by excitment. They do grow out of it.  At 10 months he is still very much a puppy and like a small child you cant expect them to "hold" on when they are really excited about something.

Your first port of call is a trip to your vet.

Neeva,
Thank you, I really appreciate your advice. I thought that I mentioned it in my posting, but I guess I forgot. I do have an appointment for him on Monday. I never heard of juvenille wetting, but I'll be sure to ask our vet and see what he thinks. Thanks again!
