Hi Sindy,
We got our kennel from e-bay, it's brand new adn it's from a woodyard in Wales. The seller is equinall. A word of warning though, many people are bidding and paying over the odds - if you go the website you can just call them up and place an order, which is probably the best way - unless, like us, you bid over a bank holiday!! We paid £260 + £65 delivery, RRP is £295 - I saw people bidding up to £360.......

I was actually quite shocked by the prices of dog runs/kennels but I guess when you think about the potential damage a Lab can do to your house and also the fact that there will be times when the dog has to be left alone for several hours - an outdoor home is the best option. Better still for us as we have 3 cats to consider and if the dog's outside at least they can settle down in the kitchen and I know everyone will be safe!! That said, I'm starting to wonder how often ours will get used - I was thinking of putting my other halfs pillows out there adn a duvet for a laugh!!
Good luck with your puppy! I can't wait to get Kiera, it's only just over a week away now and she is so adorable.....
Oh, by the way, there are plenty of pictures on the website and I can honestly say that our kennel is exactly the same as the one pictured (apart from we had to paint it ourselves!!). We bought the 10 x 5 one.

My husband and I work full time and we have 3 weimaraners and they are 100% loved, cared for and exercised...

I'm full time too, but work 5 minutes away, so my "kids" get 5 walks a day and are only alone for 4 hours at a stretch. My older dog has been left quite happily for the whole day and just sleeps. When we got our pup things changed to as they are now.
:)
I work full time but from home. I think that the key thing is that life changes and you have to be prepared to do what is required to look after your dog and keep it happy in the same way that you pay vets bills when needed. Life working full time is especially difficult if you have or want a puppy, however I was working full time as a rep when we got our first pup and he traveled in the crate in the back of my car. He was happy as larry had company and was well socilised. However I would say that he took quite a long time to house train and I spent all of my spare time playing with him and training him.

I took early retirement :) Have all day to clean up the mess Bruce makes :D
When we got our first dog, back in 1974, a lot of breeders just wouldn't consider selling a pup to owners who worked full-time. At that time my hubby and I were both at work all day but fortunately we found a breeder who didn't actually ask what our circumstances were. Although in the early days I returned home every lunchtime this was not possible when my work was re-located further away. And this was in the days before dog walkers and dog sitters had been invented :)
The pup grew up to be a wonderful and faithful friend - we spent all our evenings and weekends with him to try to make up for the hours he was on his own. But the feelings of guilt have stayed with me all these years. Yes he was loved greatly but it just wasn't fair on him and I would never do it again.

I work full time but only 5 minutes away, so I come home every lunch time. Having said that there are one or two days per year when for some reason they are left all day, but they never seem to mind - no destruction, no weeing, and just being pleased to see us when we get back! I obviously try to avoid leaving them for longer than 4 hours though.

Dogs are quite okay even if you work full time. My parents always have when I was a kid, we always had dogs and they slept most of the day and after we came home they were with us every minute..... it's not the quantity but the quality time!
