Well really upset that one of my pups names hasn't been accepted. Her owner wanted her to be called summer breeze but in Spanish. Unfortunately the name for summer Verano, is an affix name. This is the third time that I've tried to use a common every day name but it can't be accepted because it's an affix. Aggggghhhhhh. I know that you wouldn't want an affix being used but surely there should be some give especially if the breed is a foreign breed and you only use the language where the breed comes from.
Oh well, that's me blowing my top, will have to contact the owner now and advise her. Now I don't like the second name that I picked as when I translated it from English to Spanish, it has a different meaning when you translate it from Spanish to English. WEIRD.
I wanted to use 'autumn' as a theme for my last litter of Flatcoats. They were to be Autumn Explorer, Autumn Leaves, Autumn Surprise & Autumn Promise.
The Kennel rang to say Autumn is an affix is Irish Setters so I couldn't have it!!!
I changed it to Morning, after their mother, Morning Star. This created problems, as two of the names then had too many letters! So, the 'E' was taken off to make Xplorer and an 'S' was taken out to make Suprise (although the catalogues ususally have it spelt with the 'r'!)
We plan litters and think up lovely names, only to have to change them!! What a pain in the rear!!! :)
