My question's just get stranger and stranger dont they ;-) :D !!

Anywhoo.. My golden retriever has like single black hairs.. i'd say about 5 - 10 in total in his fur is this bad ??

I doubt it.  My dobe has half a dozen single white hairs, from old scratches or little wounds - nothing to worry about!

sometimes they are termed as mismarked if they have a lot of black, ive seen a full pedigree before now with a completley black back end!  some have small patches, some have large patches, i think it is the same as white markings on a lab.

a friends golden has a huge black blob in the middle of her nice pink tongue!

It's a throwback to flatcoat ancestry, it should grow out, unless it is a black blob on a pink tongue.

My golden retriever Sam has a single black hair on his coat and funnily enough he has got a big black blob on his tongue too.

My Curtis has a black blob on his pink tongue, does this mean that Miranda (His mum) had a 'dalliance' with a Flattie before she went to her 'proper hubbie'?   ;) ;) ;)

Nothing to do with ancestry, it's what's known as somatic (of the body) mutation.  The e allele which causes yellow pigment is particularly unstable and often mutates back to E (black in most breeds) while pigment is being formed during embryonic development.

You can find odd dark hairs on most dogs that are yellow due to ee -  Labs, Goldens, red Cockers, Westies, white/apricot Poodles .....
