We bought Gabi a harness, as due to her on lead agression she now had to wear a muzzle. The problem we had with it, was it made her sore under her front legs and underbelly. My question is where we using the wrong sort or do all dogs suffer with this at first?

Hi Gaby,
Can I suggest putting fleecy covering on the harness where it's rubbing? Might help. I've not had this problem when using a harness. You don't say what type you're using. There are some very nice padded ones available now.

Could it be that we did not have it on tight enough, it did move about a bit when she pulled.
i use 2 different harnesses and not had any problems with rubbing, it could be as you said gaby that the straps are not adjusted properly. :)
I had the same problem with Charlie, it did have a padded sleeve on the leg bits but it still made him sore, we now have a trpd padded harness which is brilliant and not expensive.
I use a double ended lead, one end attatched to the harness and one end to his headcollar, we try just to use the harness lead and use the headcollar for power steering.

How is Charlie getting along? We had to discontinue our rehab sessions with Angela as it was getting too exspensive at £100 per trip. I used to use a dogmatic head collar but now can't use it due to needing a muzzle.
