I would like to purchase a puppy for my boyfriend as a christmas present. He has always loved this breed and although he has never had a golden retreiver before, he has had various much loved dogs as a child and adult.
If anyone could help me with this request, please will you email me at my fathers email address: david@graiglelo.co.uk
Kind regards,
Holly.

Jeangenie gave the perfect reply, I think.
Puppies as gifts are never a good idea - it's important that the breeder can meet the intended owner and make sure they "fit" with the puppy. And Christmas is not a good time for a puppy to have a new home - there's already so much going on at that time of year. I would go with Jeangenie's suggestion. When I was a child, I added a dog to my Christmas list every year, but my parents would never let us have a pet as a gift. On my ninth Christmas though, I was given a puppy package - basket, bowls, collar and lead, chew toys, a book about my favourite breed and a book on looking after a new puppy. But the most important thing I got was a promise that we would start looking for a puppy in the spring. It was the best present I ever got, even though I waited another 6 months to bring my little girl home.
