Can someone kindly tell me which direction my 'traditional' Apex design kennel should face -  to avoid the raind/wind etc.  

With its back to whichever way the prevailing wind in your area comes from, I would think!

i would definately avoid north facing... as the winds from this direction are usually very cold (from siberia etc) and westerly ones tend to do damage if they are strong enough. just what i've found. hope that helps :)
