Our three year old bitch three weeks after mating suddenly developed a swollen face/eyes followed by vomiting x 3 overnight. We discovered the next day some toadstools in our paddock. We think she might have had some. Do you think this will have harmed her pregnancy? Anyone? I would be so grateful for your help.

Hope your bitch is OK. Just to say I had a bitch in whelp who I discovered, to my horror, was gobbling down toadstools. She didn't have any immediate side effects like vomiting though & went on to have a perfect healthy litter. I suppose it depends on what type of toadstools they were. Perhaps if you could identify the toadstool & look up the side effects - but then you might scare yourself unnecessarily anyway! Have you had a word with your vet?

My 2 girls are at my mum and dad's at the moment as they've been in season.  They were due to come back today, but I went to take their new puppy and the old one water training.  Well when I got to their house the one that is hopefully 3 weeks pregnant was totally off her back legs!  She'd been fine all morning but found out that she'd had the bin during the night which had at least chicken bones in and God knows what else.  Managed to get her up and running around and got her to eat some grass as you could tell that she was extremely constipated.  She's managed to go to the toilet and has also been sick very, very smelly!  My worry now is that although this was only constipation, although severe will it of done any damage to the pups?

What with all I went through in her first pregnancy I don't think I'd be able to cope if anything happened to these pups now!
