Hi
when we fist got our staffie at 7 weeks old we were having trouble with bitting and so on. Then when he got his second set of teeth the biting stopped but just lately he has started to bite ( mouth ruffly? ) again and he has become quite boystrus E.G jumping up and biting hands jumping and holding on with he's pours even when you try and stroke him he snaps at your hands. Is this normal could it be that hes new teeth are bothering him, I read that jt can take some months for there teeth to settle, Could it be that or could it just be a noughty teen.

My staffie also went through this stage and she is now 1yr old. I also became quite concerned. However, after a little research I found that after losing puppy teeth and growing adult ones, it does take a while for the new set to settle and again you should ensure that objects for chewing on are provided.
I have also read that certain breeds communicate by grabbing your hand (or anything else). Not in an aggressive way but a simple, "I want and need to talk to you and get your attention" way. This may be acceptable in some households but certainly if young children are around it should be minimal, if not stopped. But on the whole, staffies tend to adapt to different people and their strengths and moods, especially children.
I would say that if you feel he has gone over the boundaries, then a loud, "OW" will work and ignore him for a couple of minutes. Staffies really hate being ignored and will do anything to please.
