On Tuesday, I saw blood drops on the floor and thought that Sam had bitten Breeze, I checked her all over but it would seem to be coming from her backside, so we rolled her over to see and my little girl is in heat. She is not even 6 months yet, that will be on 8th Oct. Is it normal for them to come into season so young? Thankfully we have moved on Tuesday and she now has a 160ft garden so I am not going to take any chances by taking her to the park. How long should I keep her away from other dogs? My new neighbours want our dogs to meet, but I have had to ask them to wait. She was so down on Wednesday, I thought i had a different dog, but she is now back to her normal nutty puppy self.

To top it all, Sam has been sick again and is shaking like a leaf, I know that the move may have taken it out on him a little, but I worry about him so much

Just make sure those fences are secure/high enough and that your bitch can't climb/jump them   or other dogs climb/jump in :(   It might be best to stay with her in the garden at all times now

We were out there all day strimming and mowing it, it was a wilderness as it had not been touched for 3 years. There was this huge wasps nest that we had to get rid of (couldn't wait for the council) so it was destroyed in our own way. Was not happy with the dogs going up there with all the wasps. Still so much work to do out there, but it will look great eventually.

Breeze is loving it, Sam is not too bothered and when the cats come back on Monday from their holiday, they wil have plenty of shrubs to hide in.

Our garden is 150ft long but the problem we have is during the winter months you cant see them at the back of the garden.
My OH put up a fence with a gate in the area near to the house for the dogs to toilet and play they go up the garden when I want them too ,I also have 2 bitches so this is safer when they are having a season  ...when we first moved into the house a few years ago a dog had jumped over the back fence and was on the opposite side to the fence my OH had built obviously this has been rectified since but as previous post said ..it is one to think about.

p.s get yourself a petrol mower!!!

I hired a mower yesterday and broke it... :( They had to deliver me another one....

Its a good idea about the fence, but until we cut the wilderness yesterday, we didn't know what was behind it and there is not much in way of fencing, just a wire fence thing which is not much good to keep these horny male dogs out :)

it would be much cheaper to put up a fence near the house then at least you know you can let them out safely.Give you time to sort new fencing out around the garden ....its one hell of a job!
We altered our garden completely to the way it was the previous owners had it sectioned off into three ??this is the best time of year for you  as everything is dying off anyway it'll be  worth it in the end!

My neighbour has had a brick building built at the bottom of his and made it into a gamesroom for his teenagers with a snooker table and tele etc he also has one of those massive swimming pools during the summer.Now theyre grown up its a bar too!!! party party party!!!

At least now she's come in, you can start working out her cycle - my girl's 10 months and not been in yet!

my pup is 10m and hasnt had her first season yet my older girl is hopefully due in Oct so that might bring them on together.
