I know that there are a lot of posts on this subject but I would particularly like to hear from those with small breeds. Our girls are three weeks at the weekend and happily taking Mothers milk. I doubt whether they will start to be weaned at the weekend which I would prefer to do for a day or so before worming. They will weigh in the region of 1 kilo which is the weight of a lot of other breeds at a week :-)
The bitch was on Panacur 10% from day 40 and was thinking of the puppies having 0.50ml for three days.
Would you agree?

I seem to remember it is 0.5ml per Kilo over 3 days for puppies but aren't the dosages on the inside of the bottle label?
I would weigh them properly come the time, adjust the dose accordingly and give it using a small, well calibrated syringe because I think mis-dosing is the cause of a lot of the difficulties people have with worming small puppies, these are strong chemicals.

Hi,
Yes, the stated dose is on the bottle but if you go onto the Panacur website it says that puppies of this size should be given Panacur 2.5%, so there is the confusion? Thats why I would like to see what other think before I give our wee darlings too strong a dose without a little solid food in their tums :-)

I think the 2.5% would just be factored up to the same amount of active ingredient ie 2mls per kilo, I have never used this one, but again the bottle should give guidance.  I suppose if you were not confident about getting an accurate measurement in your syringe you might prefer to use the lower percentage but of course it is more fluid to get down the little darlings :)

Yes, that is probably right enough. It takes a sensible brain to give a proper persective of thing when you are a new mum LOL :-) :-)

Hi, I much prefer ging the 10% - the amoudn you have to give of the 2.5% is very off putting for tiny pups!  My pugs vaired between 600g - 900g at the first worming, and a 2ml syringe was ideal for dispensing and dosing the 10% Panacur.

bye
