Is it normal for a bitch to continue to spot  bleed after she has been mated. The bleeding has more or less stopped when we mated her on days 11 and 13 but it staarted up again and she is still spotting on day 16.

She is a maiden bitch who missed on our last attempt. Any advice appreciated.

Yes, it's perfectly normal. Her season will continue as normal whether or not she has been mated & whether or not she is in whelp.

My bitch bled even longer than normal and she was in whelp so try not to worry :-)
