Hi im buying a shih tzu and was wondering what the behaviour difference will be between a girl and a boy, a couple of breeders have told me that it is easier to look after a boy, Anyone here that have shih tzu's that can help me,

I think that personally depends on you as well as the puppy...

Me personally I prefer males over females, no dealing with heats and I find them alot more clingy... Thats just what I have found with my 5 and 4 are boston terriers (3-males, 2 -females), they both seem willing to please... Depends how you raise them and the temperment of puppy you get... All my bostons are more laid back except one male (Junior) which is very hyper and always on the go. Before I get a puppy I always do the puppy tests then I chose that way....

I don't know how boys are but I have two shih-tzu girls. They are very friendly and loving. The younger ones nickname is Velcro because everywhere I go she seems to be attached. They both get very excited when I have been out and come home probably because I usually bring them something back with me. I am intrigued to know what the breeders mean by a boy being easier to look after. Both my dogs had one season and then they were spayed as we did not want to breed with them. That is the only difference I can see but whatever you get I am sure you will not be disapointed. They are truly great dogs with a lot of character.
