Hi, has anyone ever had eyelashes removed from the upper eyelids on there dogs by a specialist?
How long does it take to heel? and can you tell? or does it look awful?
Thanxs Oliver

Do you mean an Entropian op? Run a search using the search facility (in the top right hand corner) on entropian :)

Sounds more like distichiasis (stray eyelashes) that many breeds are prone to. There should be no recovery time as they are simply plucked or electrolosis used. For cases that reoccur sometimes a tiny slice of the eyelid is removed, but the vet should advise on aftercare.

How does this op stand with the KC Brainless? Do you need to get permission to show after such an op?

If it is just haior removal no problem, but if they eyelid has a portiuon removed then it would need permission to show, and I suspect it would be refused as you are altering natural conformation.
Hi guest. My bitch had this a few months ago and was in and out in a day and you couldn't see a thing. She was fine immediately afterwards which was good because the eye had been really bothering her before she had it done.
Good luck

hi Oliver, one of my bitches had distichiasis, extra eyelashes which irritated her eye. They were frozen off and never grew back, there was no scarring or any other visible sign of the cryo treatment.
A dog that I rehomed used to let me pluck his out! :D
