Hi,

I have a male, entire labe who over the last couple of weeks has been snapped at by other dogs.

He is 17 months old and over the last couple of weeks he has been getting a real hard time from other male dogs. we met 2 other labs a week ago on sunday, the three dogs mingled but in a second the other dogs were snapping at him, we seperated and moved on. we had quite a fright as we were amazed that labs would go for other labs, i don't know if that is naive on our part.

Then again on friday, again 2 male labs done the exact same thing.

I have read that when a dog goes through puberty it 'smells' more due to the hormones. is this the case and is this what is happening here? we are becoming quite concerned as bruce is a very bold, confident dog, who we are now having to lead when we see other dogs.

if this is due to hormones, do you have any ideas how long this stage will last?
