I am trying to find a reputable breeder for West Highland White Terriers in Norfolk. A friend of mine is hoping to purchase a puppy purely as a pet and not a show dog and she is new to the breed. She has had many dogs in the past and is therefore quite knowledgeable about dog keeping. She is a lady in her late sixties who has recently lost her daughter and is looking for a dog as company for her. Please can anyone help me? I would dearly love to bring a smile back to this lovely lady's face. I can be contacted on her behalf at e mail jackie@fludey.freeserve.co.uk

Hi Jackie, I do hope you find a little dog to make this lady smile again. I personally cant help you, but we have lots of Westie lovers and owners on this board, who Im sure will be able to point you in the right direction.

Hi there your freind may be better with a slightly older dog rather than a puppy as remember they can be a bit of work. You could also try the Westie rescue. I am sure Irene or WL may have details. in fact I will go e-mail someone I know that is involved with them.

Whether they are for show or not they if bred from a good breeder they will have been bred for quality which includes nature etc. They are not the least expensive breed and you can pay between £300 and £500 pounds depending on lines. Your freind will also probably need to spay the dog also when it is a bit older.

I did see one on another site that was needing a home after being retired form showing I will post the add if I can find it again.

Regards Pam
